David and Goliath lives on

Fed Ex delivered a letter today!  But first, the background:

A couple years ago, my office called to collect on a 6 month past due invoice with one of the largest banks.  When they asked that we, yet again, send another invoice, we noted that it would include a late fee.  We were abruptly told that "they do not pay late fees."  (Try that when your car, mortgage, or credit card payment is past due with them.)  We sent the invoice and, sure enough, they crossed out the late fee and remitted a payment for the original invoice, 7 months later.

So turning the pages of the calendar, I did a VA appraisal where they were the lender.  1 month passed with no payment so I added a late fee and resent the invoice.  The second month passed and I sent another invoice with an additional late fee yesterday, copied to VA.  Seems they found the invoice of a month ago and sent the check via Fed Ex - with the late fee included.

That must be a first!!! Try being late on a payment and not paying the late fee. Right!

Good for you! Some of these lenders are just too big for their britches!

Well, "David," I'm glad you had two stones for your sling shot. The second one was a winner, for sure. Congratulations! Keep that pouch full of stones handy.

Good job! Sorry you had to go through such an ordeal, but I like how you brought it to a successful conclusion.

Thanks to all.  One would (should) never expect that a critical part of running an appraisal company would be collections from banks.
