Thunderboats on San Diego's Mission Bay

By
Real Estate Agent with Palm Properties FL# SL3323876

This weekend the thunderboats return to Mission Bay!  These fast moving boats are incredible to watch, even if all we see are the giant "rooster tails" behind the hydroplanes as they speed by!  These powerful machines can reach speeds up to 190 mph on the straightaways.  Action began at 8 a.m. this morning and will continue to 5 p.m. today and tomorrow will start at the same time.  There are many classifications in the races and different types of boats will be racing.  I was out there earlier, but unable to get close enough to take photos of any of the earlier races, but here is a picture of one of the boats and a picture of the boats with spectators.  An exciting event to watch from the Crown Point Park by Mission Bay!
