Eperks

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

I got a call today from a rep with Eperks.  It appears they are a lead generation company.  Has anyone heard of them? Used them?

I am thinking it is not a good idea but wanted to check around.

hmmmm...haven't heard of them before.  Just make sure you check it out thoroughly.  I prefer the companies that you only pay by the lead rather than a monthly payment.  it's important too how much they "screen" the leads.  I was part of HouseHunt for a while and it was expensive.  Also, they suddenly divided our city into areas and sold the areas to other agents. So, we were the "Colorado Springs" link, but then they added another BOLDED link that said, "Colorado Springs Area" which went to other agents.  Many of the leads were poor leads and the buyers weren't required to enter any sort of accurate information.  I spent hours calling through those leads, and after a 9 month period, only converted one. Anyway, just do your homework so you're not getting screwed.

Never heard of them.  But lead generation companies for the most part are a ripoff.  Be careful and do tons of research before committing.

I've heard of them and sent them money for two zip codes. Thirty days later not one single lead, not one single ad. They called me because of my blogs and said that if I would buy one more zip code and keep it for eight months and if after all that I didn't get a lead they would give me all my money back. I also won the British lottery and all I have to do is send in $3,000, yea, yea, heard it all before, guess I'm lucky they only took me for $256.00.

All I know is that they are affiliated with eBay. A friend signed up and I am waiting to see if he gets any leads.

I don't believe they are affiliated with eBay. What I've heard is that they are like eBay which doesn't really make any since. What they are like is a pyramid scheme but unlike a pyramid scheme where the first one's in make money no one seems to be making any money except the 26 year old founder.

I got called by them too, pushed into signing up for one month, and have canceled because it seems to be worthless.

I just canx my eperks account. I signed up with them when they first rolled it out. My broker also signed up with them and took 2 zip codes. While they were supposed to be exclusive eperks sent the same leads to agents who were on the regular plan and share zip codes with other agents. In two months I recived three leads. One which was a refi, one who is just looking and can't qualify and one who never even aswered any emails or phone calls. After several converstaions and a lot of digging I've arrived at this conclusion. While the concept is great and the potential is there eperks has not done the advertising campaign that should have been done. they seem to be advertising as they get money from their accounts every month and using the agnt to cover their startup costs. After three months I closed my account and it was to close 9/30/07. I went into the account to check for activity on 9/28/07 and found that they had closed it 2 days early. While this may not seem like much it is the principle of the matter. I paid for a service and did not receive the service promised. I would urge all agents to think long and hard before investing your money in this service.
