Many of you may be interested in knowing that Karen Scheinfurth's husband passed away after a lengthy illness. As a community, I feel we should all pass our condolences on to this wonderful lady who has been a very worthy Active Rain contributor for quite awhile. Personally, Karen, I know that he is in a better place and I wish you the courage and strength to get past the huge ordeal of the next weeks and months. A brighter and happier 2007 is waiting ahead. Our best to you and your family.
At church today we celebrated All Saint Day. As part of the day we honor the small saints in our lives... which there are many.
Karen... if feel for your loss. But rejoice in the fact that your husband's life has transcended to the next level. A level I believe we all will JOYFULLY expirience.
Me
Friends and family, I just now saw this post (January 9, 2007) by searching old posts. Thanks for your prayers, wishes and good will. I'm recovering and trying to get back to work and AR. The holidays were difficult, but I hope January brings a fresh start.
I've asked myself several times did I do all I could for my husband -- my answer came in a strange way - my birthday was Dec. 24 and I flew home to PA to be with my mom and brother. Two days before my birthday I received a 4 ft. box filled with two dozen of exotic roses. The card read: "Mom, there aren't enough words to describe how we feel about what you did for dad for the past nine months. We are so appreciative for all you have done for us." And signed it from dad and all the kids.
Well that said it all and now I know I did all I could to make my husband comfortable and happy during his last months of living
Don't take your family members for granted - for we never know when it's our time.
God bless you all
