I was wandering through YouTube this morning, trying to find a video that related to what I wanted to talk about on this morning's blog post. Turns out, I found one that related 100% to my topic of the day, "If you don't like America, you can GET OUT!"
I hear complaints daily about this country. From the government that runs this country, to the issue on unemployment, to the "life just isn't fair" comment, I have heard it all. It really irks me when people can sit here and rationalize why they don't like this country, and how if they only could afford to live elsewhere, they would. I am not saying that the USA is the only GREAT country out there, but hear me out!
- We have the right to choose our own religion. Certain countries (goes without saying) force others into a specific religion, and the consequences can be severe if you are caught expressing your own beliefs.
- We have the right to be WHO we are. A young gay man can walk down the street without fear of being arrested, and sentenced to either life in prison or being put to death, as other countries have made homosexuality illegal! In that same regard, a young youth pastor can stand on a street corner, preaching the word of god, without having to fear for his life.
- We have the right to dress the way we want. Many countries impose dress codes, not only for Woman (The Middle East), but for the working population (Japan)! I can go to work wearing jeans one day, slacks the next, and shorts on Friday
I could go on for hours here, but I just want to make one point clear. Our country is not perfect. Yes, our political system needs work, but AT LEAST WE HAVE ONE! Yes, we owe trillions, with no end in sight. Yes, we have illegal immigration issues to deal with. But OVERALL, this is a great country to live in. One I am proud to be a citizen of, and I sure hope you also, can be a PROUD CITIZEN!
