Write It And They Will Come

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

I mean, the reason we're doing this is to generate business, right?

I've been told that I must publish or perish.

So...I've committed myself to write 3 times a week, every week, for 3 months.

I know you're thinking "Yeah, so what? Woop-dee-do", but you've gotta' understand the enormous personal psychological demons I am fighting in order to acheive this task.

I'm the son of college professors, you'd figure that would put me in good stead and fortify my writing ability.

But alas, 'tis just the opposite.

I probably should publish a book titled: "9 Million Excuses To Help You Avoid Blogging"

Best seller?

Time and time again, I've heard about the benefits of blogging. So here I go, jumping in full tilt. Look for my posts over the next few months! I'll welcome feedback and helpful comments.

I'm writing, so I'll expect someone will come...

Hang in there Fulton. The only way to improve writing is to write. You do have an advantage in being the son of college professors. You could always employ them to write for you or at the very least correct your work. Good luck and happy writing!

Keep blogging! I would suggest to blog something everyday. Be sure to create links in your blog to your website. These links will help your website pull up better with key words.

Key words can be anything... such as St. Clair County IL Homes for Sale

but be sure to blog. You can take photos of your area, such as at a park, or historic homes, New Construction Homes, mansions in your area, whatever. Blog about your real estate market, blog about your favorite tv show. It really doesn't matter, but hang in there, and keep up the good work.

Hi Fulton,

"I probably should publish a book titled: "9 Million Excuses To Help You Avoid Blogging" .I already wrote the first few chapters if you decide you would like a co-author...;-) I can relate to.."enormous personal psychological demons I am fighting in order to achieve this task".I was an AR lurker for a little over a year before I jumped in...Which was only the past 10 days or so. I just kept telling myself to jump, jump away, how bad could it be. So far so good. Got 6 post under my belt, even got a few comments, that was nice. A big thing for me was getting the back-links, I really need them. Icing on the cake, Its either 4 or 5 of most post have ended up on page one, two and/or three of Google when I searched with those keywords for my area. Do they stay there, no, they kind of bounce around and then drop down to far for me to search but something is ALWAYS better than nothing;-) I look forward to reading more of your post, you'll find lots of support here, some real good people.

I too hated to write---or didn't think I could---well, remember, practice makes perfect, and although I shudder at some of my first posts, I have had several features---2 this week----so I guess an old dog can learn new tricks. Keep blogging!
