Every year Connecticut Magazine runs its "Number 1 Town" survey and for 2007 Ridgefield and Redding each top the list in their respective size categories. All of the Connecticut towns are ranked by Education, Crime Stats, Economy, Cost of Living and Leisure Activities and then the Total Score is calculated for each.
For towns in the 6,500 - 10,000 size range, Redding has triumphed over it's neighboring town, Easton. You can read the survey results here. For towns in the 15,000 - 25,000 size range, Ridgefield once again leads.
With 2 "Number 1 Towns", Ridgefield and Redding, northern Fairfield County provides an affordable and safe lifestyle rich in education, leisure activities and economic opportunities. This survey certainly helps to better understand why real estate values in these this area remain strong and will continue to appreciate well into the future. The fact is that everyone like a winner.
