FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Barrie Ontario November 29th, 2010

Simcoe County Realtor Mike Montague is lending voice to local real estate and the people for whom home ownership is a current or future endeavor. In a new weekly TV show called Eye on Real Estate, hosted on Rogers TV, Mike will be visiting a different Simcoe County community each week talking with municipal leaders, and people on the street about their personal passions, concerns and anticipations for the place they call home. The show gives people an up close look at the real estate market and the purchase and sales process with insights provided by the people who work within the industry and the various industries related to the acquisition, trade and ownership of real property.

In the premier episode airing in January 2011 Mike takes a look back to Barrie's humble beginnings summing up more than two centuries of population growth history and bringing the viewers to date on what has been one of Canada's fastest growing cities over the past two decades. Next we find Mike talking to residents about their passion for the place they call home during a stroll down Barrie's main street. Mike spends some time with Barrie's new Mayor, Jeff Lehman getting his take on the present and future plans of municipal leadership for the City and its people. Mike then gets the skinny on the mortgage process and financial preparations necessary for that mighty first step into home ownership. The thirty minute show wraps up with a "mailbag" question from viewers which in this episode sheds some light on the best times to buy property.

Simcoe County is rich in its many Cities Towns and Villages. The region is experiencing some of Ontario's greatest population expansions and has been earmarked as a vital component to future growth as blueprinted within the Ontario's Places to Grow Act, the Provincial Act dictating population projections and allocations within designated growth nodes throughout the province over the next quarter century. Most of our TV viewing relating to the subject of real estate is of shows imported from the United States. A local show brings added relevance and significance to area viewers as most real estate issues are regionally specific by nature.

Mike Montague is a licensed real estate sales representative with Sutton Group Incentive Realty Inc. with offices in Barrie, Innisfil, Orillia and Alliston. Mike was raised in Barrie, left following school and returned to the Barrie area in 2000. Mike has been a Realtor in the Simcoe County area for ten years, previous to which he worked in the residential and commercial construction industry for 18 years. That experience lends itself to a show that promises to be both insightful and entertaining to its viewers..

"Who Moves You?"

Thanks guys. It has been a busy week. Who would think a whole day can get eaten up just to fill 30 minutes of air time? I've had some great conversations with the incoming mayors of three cities in the county this week including Barrie and put together some good behind the scenes takes on the mortgage process, home inspections and the value of staging a home to sell. All great insight for buyers and sellers.

The show is going to have a more realistic edge than the house flipping tv dramas everyone is used to seeing.
