Located in Chalfont, PA (Bucks County PA) is the Byers' Choice Manufacturing Headquarters. Byers' Choice makes the adorable Christmas carolers that you see in gift shops throughout the country. Always free and open to the public year round, the headquarters has a Christmas Museum, an observation deck for the manufacturing area, a gift emporium where you can buy carolers and many other delightful gifts (i.e. ornaments, books, nutcrackers, advent calendars, etc). In the warmer months, the headquarters are surrounded by beautiful gardens that are popular for strolling and picture taking. Many a bride has chosen to have her wedding photos taken on the grounds of Byers' Choice.
The best part is the Christmas Museum. You will feel like you have stepped back in time to Victorian England or right into a Charles Dickens' novel. All indoors, you first stroll down a cobbled sidewalk and peer through the front windows of homes and shops all decorated for Christmas. You can stop to watch a short video on the history of Byers' Choice. You can also stop along the way to try on old fashioned hats, bonnets, and cloaks. This is fun for all ages and a great spot for the family Christmas card photo.
Next, you will stroll through various rooms all setup with a different theme. You will see everything from beautiful gingerbread houses to hot air balloons, winter scenes, the North Pole, and Christmas traditions from around the world.
The last stop is a giant room dedicated to the company's personal collection of antique nativity scenes from 35 countries around the world. The highlight is an 18th century Italian precipio, one of the few complete sets in the United States.
