Alger's unique location boasts if driving twelve minutes to Bellingham or twelve minutes to Burlington. Located near the county border (Whatcom to the north and Skagit to the south) the area (covering many sq miles) has many natural attributes such as, Mt Blanchard, Anderson Mountain along with abundant lakes as Samish, Lake Whatcom, Cain Lake, Reed Lake, Squires Lake, Palmer Lake (private).
An area in which it is the only place in the United States in which the Cascades touch the salt water. What an ecosystem this creates within a mountainous (foothill) region. Wildlife abounds, water is great and recreational opportunities are everywhere. Alger's unique location is truely undiscovered at present.
