The town of Bedford has retained both natural and architectural beauty. Visitors to Bedford find an attractive historic district and town common in the center, the 1790 Job Lane house, and several national historic landmarks. It boasts the oldest American Flag in the United States history, which is on display at the library. Each April the Bedford Minuteman Company re-enacts the early battles of the Revolutionary War. Bedford Day is celebrated every September with a parade, street fair and live entertainment.

Outdoor recreation is year round. Recreation activities include a swimming pond, a lake for boating, public boat launch on the Concord River, bike-path to Cambridge, walking the many trails of conservation land, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and cross-country skiing.

The charm of Bedford and its small town feel are enhanced by the convenient shopping, nearby restaurants and the beauty of the town. Combine that with its convenient 15 mile commute to Boston its no wonder why residents believe it is a great place to call home!
