What: Lighting of the Christmas Tree at City Hall
Where: Memorial Park, Oshawa
When: Thursday November 18, 2010 6:45pm-8:15pm
What better way to kick off the holiday season than with a cup of steamy hot chocolate, fantastic entertainment for people of all ages, church bells ringing, lighting a Christmas tree and a visit from a very special guest and his elves!!
Entertainment will include performances by the RS McLaughlin CVI Choir, the Oshawa Senior Citizens Choir, Dan the Music Man, Kobbler Jay the Eccentric Juggler and Shark Week, winners of the National Youth Week Open Mic Night contest.

Help keep this event green by bringing your own reusable mug for some delicious hot chocolate and receive a free cookie!
The Oshawa Community Church will also be holding a food drive, so please bring a non-perishable foor item.
The ceremony will end with the ringing of the church bells at St. George's Memorial Church.
After the ceremony, from 7:30-9pm, the McLaughlin Public Library will serve up free refreshments and cookies. The Bruce Gorrie Trio will entertain us with some holiday Jazz music, followed by a special family story time.
Remember to dress warm, bring your own mug, bring a non-perishable food item and, most of all, bring your Christmas Spirit!
