This is my favorite Selling Season!  Want to know why?

When should I put my home on the market? Wrightsville Beach Sellers, you've heard it for as long as you can remember;  Spring is the best selling season.  People buy in the Spring so they can move in the Summer.  No one wants to move in the Winter.

I beg to differ.  Right now is the best selling season.  That's right: "NOW!"

Let's think about it for a minute.  If you were looking for a home right now wouldn't you be pretty serious about it?  I mean, who takes time from all the shopping, cooking, parties, family times to look at houses?  PEOPLE WHO ARE SERIOUS BUYERS!

Here in Wrightsville Beach the buyers are taking a few days vacation at the shore and are looking for that perfect for them beach house.  They want to find it now, so they can make plans with family and friends for the Spring.

And here's the big reason -- interest rates are going to go up after the first of the year -- smart buyers know this and are going to want to take advantage of the historically low interest rates while they can.

But even in other parts of the Country it's a great time to have your home on the market.  The serious buyers are looking RIGHT NOW!  They need to find a home due to a job change, or because they want to be closer to family or simply want a change.  If they are taking the time to look now, they are SERIOUS BUYERS!

And homes which are appropriately decorated for the Season show better.  I do think they need to be on the more sedate side, but you shouldn't be afraid to have your home decorated for the Season.  The same rules apply now as any other time of the year.  Keep your home clean, clutter-free and ready for showings at all times.  But by all means -- hang the lights, put up the tree or menorah -- you do live there, it's okay to enjoy it!
