Have you ever wondered how the details on Stucco homes are created? You might be a little amazed. I had no idea until recently when I was actually watching carefully on how some of the homes around me were being built.
Here is a picture of what the final detail looks like so you know what I'm referencing.
You can clearly see the fancy details around the windows and framing area, as well as a couple of feet off the ground. Looks like it would be complicated to get it all semetrical, right?
Here's a picture showing what it really is.
Can you tell? It's styroafoam! Yes, all the details are made of pieces of styrofoam attached to the house and then secured down with a metal mesh on top so the stucco will stick to it.
I wonder what genius came up with this idea!!
