For resident Oregon homeowners who are struggling under the weight of a mortgage they cannot pay, Oregon has instituted a new 'mortgage payment assistance program' that will allow qualifying Oregon residents to receive help with paying their mortgage payments for a year up to $20,000.
This program is designed for those who are unemployed or meet the criteria of being in 'financial distress'. This help is being provided through funding from the U.S. Department of Treasury's 'hardest hit' fund.
It is expected that some 5000 Oregonians will qualify for this program, which will help struggling Oregon homeowners weather the perilous economic waters many Oregon homeowners have found themselves drowning in.
An application needs to be completed for the possibility of becoming eligible for the program. Applications will be made available on December 10th, 2010 from the following website:
