White Christmas in Georgia
While the northeast continues to recover from a blizzard of major proportions, metro Atlanta is still seeing the effects of the first white Christmas in more than 100 years. With accumulations in the Georgia mountains of six to eight inches, the snowfall was welcome by children and the young at heart.
Generally a rarity, snow in Georgia seldom occurs until January or February; and yet this year has already seen two measurable snowfalls, a crippling ice storm and record low temperatures. And while the local predictions were for a mild winter, it appears that the opposite may be in store. I’ve included a couple of photos of white Christmas in Georgia.
