Forget about it

2010

wow, I've been in the mortgage industry for over 30 years, but I'm not sure I've had this much fun.

GFE

They gave us a new GFE, actually they forced it upon us. It's 3 pages and replaces the 1 page form. HUH? I need another form to actually explain what the buyers real costs should be. That makes sense, right?

NMLS

Anybody out there know what the letters stand for? Guessing is permitted. Anybody out there have any idea whether this will be helpful or not? Does this change anything?

Nope

(nationwide mortgage licensing system?)

MERS

Has anyone seen my mortgage around here? Who owns it? Who knows? Lots more to come here.

ROBO Signing

Getting paid just to sign documents as fast as I can. Cool! Wonder what they say?

Appraisers

Who are they? I don't know them anymore. I can't talk to them. I'm curious as to how they determine these values anyway. I may never know. Do they?

Mortgage Brokers

They never underwrote a single file, BUT were responsible for all of the decisions, or it seems that way.

how can that be?

Well, I could go on, and on, and on, and you can feel free to add anything you want, whatever.

here's the bottom line, as I see it.

whatever it was that YOU didn't like, whatever really p----- YOU off

FORGET ABOUT IT!

Yes, it sounds from other lenders that it's getting quite challenging to be in the mortgage business.  Best wishes on hanging in there during these challenges.

Lenders are in the same boat Realtors are. We work twice as hard to get to the closing table because of all of the changes toforms, requirements, the economy. I lost 2 sales this month due to the buyers losing jobs.

Jay - I agree, forget that something irritated the heck out of you, but don't forget what you learned from it.  These days, real estate is almost as difficult as commercial air travel!  Last lender standing - I like that - All the best in 2011!

Terry,

i agree pretty much everything that happens to us can be a learning experience, some that just seem to irritate us need to be put behind us, and left in the past.

i've been a lender for over 30 years, much of that time in NH and maine. i plan on sticking around.

thanks
