I Love To Shop Local - Shimp's True Value Hardware, Pennsville, NJ 08070
Tomorrow I'm starting a little project at my house. One of the bedrooms is in need of some fresh paint.
I stopped into Shimp's True Value Hardware store this afternoon to pick up some Kilz, white semi-gloss for the trim and a nice slate grey wall color.
It was so convenient to take a short break, drive a bit down the road and pick up everything needed for the job. I was back to work in less than thirty minutes! (and let me tell you, it's a SNAP to have copies of keys made!)
I have no attraction to shopping over the bridge. Especially when there is a family-owned gem like this store. Shimp's has been in Pennsville since I was a kid.
While the gentleman in the paint department was 'shaking' the paint cans, I wandered around the store for several minutes. I found a couple of things that I needed: new switches/switch covers for my bathroom, special lotion for dry skin, and a snow shovel with a funny, crooked handle that is supposed to be easier on the ol' back. It's a good thing that the paint was ready so quickly or I probably would have filled my cart with even more stuff!
The service was friendly and quite informative.
Can't beat that!
My suggestion? Keep an eye on the monthly specials and do yourself a favor the next time you have a special project of your own......visit Shimp's True Value Hardware right in town.
I know you'll be pleased, but more than that you'll be saving prescious time while supporting a local business. It's so important now-a-days.
