City of Santa Clarita Mayor Marsha McCleon was on hand at the Second Annual Boys and Girls Club Carnival presented by the City of Santa Clarita and the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clarita.

For those of you who were not aware, Mayor McClean proclaimed on September 11th 2007 that the third Saturday in September would be "Boys and Girls Clubs of America "Day for kids."

This is a National Event that promotes meaningful time between parents and their children.  For more info click here

Mayor McCleon took the stage this afternoon asking all kids to make a pledge for "Kids Day" and shared with the audience  click here to view her on stage between concerts.  She also raffled off great prizes to the kids in attendance

There was a lot of local talent featured in the many live outdoor concerts throughout the day.  I did not have the list of entertainers I just caught the following acts listed below.  All the acts were very talented.  A couple of the local talent businesses who helped develop these artists were http://www.hubbadaddys.com/ and Elite dance studios at http://www.elitedancestudios.net/.  To see some of the talent at the "kids day" event  click on the following Kids Day Rap with Elite Studio DancersSerena Marie & Arsenal, Kids Day Theme Song with Elite Studio dancers (Please excuse the audio) my camera microphone is not very good capturing music at full volume.  There were a host of other acts that we missed while at other attractions but they were just as good!

There were actors and actresses as well signing autographs at a special booth.  I want to point out one of the actresses Deanna Douglas who wrote a very positive message to my daughter on her publicity photo signing.  This young lady hasn't let her career get to her head!  She is a positive role model for young girls and will go far with her attitude.

There was plenty to do, from jumpers to carnival rides. Check out the carnival ride.

By the way this incredible event today was totally FREE  yes you heard me right, FREE!!!.  That means hot dogs, snow cones, carnival rides, jumpers, concerts the works.  No having to buy 5 tickets thinking you have 5 rides only to learn that the rides are 5 tickets per ride!! ALL FREE No catches  Did I mention this was all free?

Thanks to the many sponsors who had booths here today.  If you are a local business and you did not participate this year, you missed out on a great opportunity to promote your business!.  There were hundred's of families here today. Hint those booths that did the best offered food.  Don't miss out on next years event!  Please suppoert those businesses that sponsored this event by clicking here

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for dropping by.  Most of are latest means of family entertainment tends to place us all in our own little worlds.  It is great that events such as this help bring us back together as families enjoying the same entertainment together.  Being free it is within the means of all who attend.  Thanks Charlie you are right this event can foster great ideas in so many ways.  I happen to think the event itself and the theme are the best idea,
