If you plan to sell your home, make sure to do your homework! Today, as never before, it is very important to do everything possible to make sure that your property will stand out above its competition.
It is important to keep your home in top shape, even if you're not thinking about selling it today.
Think of future re-sale value. Here are a few tips we would suggest to you.
1) Paint interior: If you want to paint your rooms, choose neutral color pallets. If your walls have cracks or holes in them, make sure to repair them. Don't forget about the ceiling. Make sure to repair any water stains, cracks, or peeling paint.
2) Do Easy Bath Upgrades: Replace frosted glass for clear glass, clean the grout, remove rust stains, apply fresh caulk, update doorknobs and cabinet pulls, replace faucets.
3) Home Begins at the Front Door. Replace the lantern light, replace the house numbers, plant large bushes under the front windows, and paint the steps.
4) Don't Put Off Care and Maintenance. We, as agents, know that the home that gets attention in this buyers market is in tip-top shape.
But, if you plan to put your home on the market in the near future, try to look at it through the Buyer's Eyes...
Ask yourself questions like:
Are my carpets clean and in good condition? Are there any pet odors? Is the fireplace clean? Is the basement/attic organized?
It may sound like a lot to do... But remember, that you will be well rewarded for all of your hard work.
