Thanks Tom - i was feeling like Zillow users were just looking for "bank repos or foreclosures" and that it was a waste of my money, but I will definitely see what I can do to improve before I quit!
I already have an account and this is a nice addition. Thanks for the heads up!
Thanks I've set everything up - now inviting my clients! Thanks for the great suggestion!
Dude, how do you DO that? I just sent out a blast last week, they are already rolling in, 5 stars so far and some NICE comments... Oh yeah, that will go everywhere...
I am not a huge fan of zillow ever since they took away the ability to manually upload your listings
Hey everyone! Thanks for the feedback, always appreciated. So I just got an email from Greg at Zillow who shared an interesting stat (after a big "thank you"). Check this out "Early data is that agents with reviews are getting a huge lift in leads (124% lift with 5 or more reviews/ratings). This stuff is really moving the needle for agents."
It just makes sense. I would strongly encourage you to add this project to your "to do's" this week.
Have a GREAT finish to January!

Thanks, but no thanks. I have no interest in having Zillow participate in any type rating system. I have seen how their estimates work. Now estimating an agent's proficiency? I don't think I want any part of that.
Great post as always Tom! Like the folks above, I am a bit in both worlds. I get that Zillow is there to stay & "our people" are using it. Indeed - I have to combat the "Zestimates" in my efforts daily, and it is not always esy to do so. However, I also get that as agents in the business of service - we need to be where our clients are, and they are definitely at Zillow!
Now that one of my most favorite AR Hero's Brad Andersohn is there, I must admit that I do feel a bit more comfortable. However, I am still fighting with how to combat these folks that "drop a bomb", just because they can, even if they have never done business with the person they may drop a bomb on. Hasn't happened to me personally, but have seen it happen to others, and even knew someone that struck out at someone this way on EVERY social media outlet they could find.
Social Media should be a place to give honest reviews, not a place to work through issues, and to often I have seen folks use it like a sword against someone they have had a divorce against or tiff with - non-business related. Not a good thing & not sure how you clean stuff like that up without it harming reputations. A slippery slope. Comments? Ideas?
I'm with John #27. My clients are too sophisticated for Zillow. Soliciting reviews from clients and sending them to a website they never heard of is not my style. Perhaps when the NY Times starts reviewing agents I might be interested. I'm not interested in eyeballs, I'm interested in qualified buyers and sellers. All media is not equal and all leads are not equal. I prefer quality over quantity.
I believe I have 21 or so reviews on my Zillow profile, and it's been paying off very well. I just emailed my last 21 clients and sent them a link. I asked if they were happy with my services, would they please post a reivew on Zillow. I didn't tell them what to write. One guy called me yesterday who has a home in Elk Grove to sell. He said he is friends with a top producer in Elk Grove but after reading my reviews on Zillow, he would prefer to work with a different top producer, me. I guess his friend has no reviews. True story.
Hey Mitchell, no doubt NYC is an entirely different animal with regards to real estate in general... as you know. It would be very interesting if NYT did this. "Reviews" certainly arent new to NYC... rating agents and companies only seems to be the natural next step.
I hear you John (#27) Zillow isnt the first, nor will they be the last to "review". This seems to be todays more "transparent" testimonial on an agents web site. Thanks for keeping the conversation going... and taking it a different direction! Appreciate the comment.

Tom, A bad review in the Times could put an agent out of business. They still wield that power here. The site that is giving the Times a run for their money is StreetEasy.com. Consumers love it. It is very accurate, up to date and transparent.
Hi Tom, so far I have just one review on Zillow, I'm trying to come up with a non-intrusive way to ask my past clients to log in to zillow, create an account (that's the hard part) and then put in a review. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for posting this Tom. We're doing a free Ratings and Reviews webinar this Friday at 10:00am PST. We'll be sharing some FAQ's and some cool tips and ideas on how others are not only soliciting these reviews and testimonials, but also how they're getting them and the results they're having.
I'm not going to spam your post Tom, but if anyone wants to join us, they can... it's free. Just register over at Zillow Academy dot com and we'd love to answer your questions and help you even further if we can. Thanks.
BTW - Your video was featured at the Academy Tom, thanks again :-)
I know we have an account but I have to go check it out. I actually just read an Active Rain blog about how successful the ads are as well on Zillow. Looks like I have a task for the weekend.
Thanks again Tom
