Santa brought me a new camera, Panasonic DMC FZ 100, for Christmas. Along with that he brought a family of new birds that I haven't identified yet but there are about 8 of them that clean my feeder out on a regular basis. My back yard in Glen Wood in Virginia Beach is really quite busy this time of year. A bit surprising as I have at least 10 different types feeding at different times and sometimes trying to get there all at once.
At first I wasn't as happy with the pictures as I should be until I looked at the ISO they were taken at. My old camera would have just turned up a bunch of yellow blotches at these ISOs. I had the shutter speed cranked up to get the birds. The first picture was at ISO 400, then 800 and finally 1600. Pretty impressive for a small sensor camera.
