Franklin, MA Schools were recently recognized as having high educational productivity and efficiency according to the Center for American Progress, a Washington, DC think tank. Their report, released last month, compared more than 9000 school districts across the country and 176 districts in Massachusetts on how much educational achievement a district produced per dollar spent.
Franklin School Committee Chairman Jeffrey Roy said, "We have talked about this for some time but now we are seeing empirical data to back up our claims." He went on to mention that "increasing school spending does make a difference as long as it is spent wisely."
The Franklin, MA school district was highlighted in the report for merging its school and town technology departments several years ago as a way districts can work closely with town government to reduce costs and maximize educational spending.
Local residents have long known that Franklin, MA offers high quality education but have kept taxes lower than many surrounding towns. Maybe it's time you find out more about this great town...
