Can you believe this weather? I really feel for the Packers and Steelers fans who may have been looking forward to some Southern hospitality in the rays of sunshine and warmth. It is colder in Dallas than Alaska! Who would have known?!
I do also feel sorry for us poor saps who were walking and doing yard work a week ago in 74 degrees. What a difference a few days makes! I am glad that I ended up going to the store and loading up on basic provisions but the rationing did start yesterday on things like fresh fruit.
While having four days stuck inside has been a drag, there are also worse things that could have happened. So, in light of the crummy weather and having to figure out things to do with the kids, here is my Top 10 list of positive things that happened since Tuesday.
- The 100th day of school was yesterday and the one thing that amazes me about that is, have I REALLY made 100 lunches for my daughter? I haven't made a lunch since Monday and I am cool with that!
- I get to hang out with my husband and my kids. As much as it's a whip to figure out what to do, my beautiful family makes things all right.
- As much as North Texas has lost in revenue, this family has saved hundreds of dollars in gas and incidental expenses. Not a bad deal!
- No makeup on this fresh face since Monday night and no, you won't see a picture of that!
- Sweats and slippers and comfort galore!
- I don't know what I had, but I got sick early Thursday morning and was a slug all day. If there is any time to get sick, a day where you can't leave your house is certainly the best day to do it!
- The "Tangled" Wii game has to be played with two players and we've never really had an excuse to sit down and play for hours...that is until now! It is kind've fun!
- Everyone is going through the same thing right now so there's a little less guilt about staying indoors!
- This is a record-breaking time in Dallas. Fun to be part of history!
- Catching up on laundry, while not fun or glamourous, has to be done. Snuggling with the warm clothes is a plus.
