New Orleans and King Cakes
Many business and schools have King Cake Friday in New Orleans. King Cakes season occurs every Mardi Gras Season. Tradition states that you may only have King Cake between January 6th and Mardi Gras Day.
We purchase my Favorite King Cake from Randazzo in Metairie. This year has not been any different. The small piece I ate was fantastic.
Jon, I also had some Crawfish today. I can only eat very little of the King Cake due to my health issues. I do love it!

Frank, I'm embarrassed to say I've never had a King Cake...guess I'll have to wait until next year...I almost made it down this year, but a silly thing like clients got in the way.
Frank Randazzos does have the best king cakes. Man those things are getting pricey.
Oh how I miss King Cake Fridays! And it gets pretty expensive to have Randazzo's ship 'em here. But I'll be ordering one for next week. :) Of course, my favorite was always Tastee Donuts. Miss them tremendously!!
I am nauseated as I write this because I just ate a fat chunk of donut king cake! I love this time of year, but my thighs? Not so much! Hope you are doing well!
I'm not sure why king cakes are not sold year round in more places. Until next year...
