Frozen & Locked Down Again in My Rockwall, Texas Home! It's Happening Again!

Second Time in Less Than Two Weeks....It Is Happening Again in Rockwall, Texas!  Frozen Again!

Rockwall, Texas, as well as the entire Dallas, Texas area is now hit by a second Winter Storm!  Many records were broken last week...with schools being closed for an unheard of 4 Days.  Nothing much moved,

Due to one of the worst winter storms I can remember I was locked down for four full days in my Rockwall, Texas home.  Finally I escaped...warm temps and a little sunshine.  I was able to return to work for 2 days...now we are frozen and locked down again in Rockwall, Texas.  Schools are closed, Interestly enough kids are complaining that they can not go to school...this is a first!

I love my home, I wish every week that I had more time to spend in it....then I get an unexpected, unasked for gift of being locked down in my beautiful, warm, comfortable Rockwall, Texas home for the second time in less than two weeks. This will likely total 6 days of being frozen in and not able to get out to work.  That does not count the two day weekend which did reach the above freezing mark but was still cold!

As a Realtor, this is difficult for me to handle, and it is stressful to miss a week of work this early in the year.

One thing for sure about Texas weather is that it WILL change, usually quickly.  The expected temperature range this week is around 15 degrees to nearly 70 degrees by the weekend. This is actual - not chill factors!

Digging deep for something to be thankful about regarding the weather, I realize it will change again soon, after all, this IS Texas!  I have to remind myself that these days are a gift from God...letting me know that it is okay to slow down, to take it easy, and to enjoy the moment!  Trying not to whine!

Please enjoy these pictures, frozen moments, taken from my Rockwall, Texas home during the biggest winter storm that I can remember.

Regardless of the Weather....Rockwall, Texas Is a Great Place to Live!

Barbara -- We have been hammered by unprecendented snow here in CT also.  Our kids, too, WANT to go to school as we are way over our snow day allotment. I much rather prefer the picture -- and weather -- in your banner.

Hi, Barbara...I also much prefer the picture in my banner to this frozen stuff.  I try not to complain too much as I know there are other parts of the country that have had it much worse than us poor complaining Texans.  We don't seem to know how to drive, we don't know how to dress...and we honestly never expect it to get this bad.  Thanks for stopping by with your comment.

Oh, Brian, this makes me want to hop on a plane and head to sunny California, except I would never make it to the airport!

Barbara...kinda know the feeling.  A couple of weeks ago we had a whole week of school that was called off because of snow...so that was the Saturday and Sunday before and after, plus the week.  Just about drove me crazy.  They are calling for a couple of inches overnight tonight. So...I'm hoping for a two hour delay...just so we can sleep in.  Don't want to be out all day, just don't want to get up at 5:45!

That is just amazing, we don't think of Texas as being a snow event state.  I know its hard being "tied up" and housebound...but we are versaitle, as Realtors we can keep things going...just give us a computer and a cell phone right?

Rene, this is true! Most years we do not see much if any snow.  It may snow a few hours and be gone off the streets in another few hours.  Yes, thanks to our trusty computers and cells, we can keep going.  In fact, clients can't get out either so this is a time they spend time on their computers too.  I did get a listing yesterday that someone just emailed me the survey and asked me to list their land.  We'll see what today brings...but I am pretty sure it is more of the same.

This winter has been unreal.  can't believe how cold & white it's been in Texas.  I have some good friends in Austin and they were having lots of issues, too.

Debbie, good morning.  Oh my, it is still sooooo cold here this morning!  Texans, at least in the Dallas area, do not deal with this too well.  We are looking for that sunshine in a couple of days and, believe it or not, temps close to 70 degrees!
