A couple of helpful tips learned at convention this week

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Advantage

What I learned at convention is impressive.  One of the questions presented to us by one of the speakers was "What percentage of shoppers will be shopping on the internet first in two years?"  In other words, before contacting a realtor, they'll be surfing first.  My guess was correct when I said 100%.  We all know people who can't get on the internet at all but he said that they will know someone who will get the information for them.  Right now 80% shop by internet first.

And this same speaker said that email is SO important.  It is important to answer quickly.  And it is also important, very important, to have an email signature.  That signature should give all your information with an easy to click email address and web site.

I have been telling sellers this info for quite a while.  Then I show them my webpage and show them how this will bring more buyers.   It seems like we use the web for everything these days!

It is amazing how early people start to shop before they contact an agent!  I think it is very interesting.  We all have to take advantage of this information.

The statistics also say the most internet leads will work with the FIRST agent that contacts them (perhaps competent agent should be inserted here LOL). It's imperative to get back to them within 2 hours, or they have moved on. I'm trying to move my business (andywerner.com) away from print advertising. A statistic I heard this week at a seninar was that only 1.2% of all leads, that's all leads, buy the house they call about.

All the money we spend on magazine & newspaper ads to make our sellers feel good. We need to work our database of past clients, that's the true goldmine. But I'm not saying anything everyone doesn't already know.  :-)

Good post Barbara.
