BONUS POINTS???

By
Real Estate Agent with Cummings & Co. Realtors 604121

I'm not that NEW to AR, but I was looking through my profile today and noticed that I do not have any bonus points, but some of the other people in my community have a majority of their points from BONUS POINTS!  Now, I have invited several people to join and they have joined and I do get the bonus points from inviting them under my blogging points, so I'm not talking about those type of points!

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT BONUS POINTS ARE AND HOW YOU GET THEM IN AR?

My understanding is the majority of bonus points you are talking about are those received from 'winning' a blogging contest on AR.  I've only participated in one, didn't get anything for it.  I suppose there are other ways too...but I can't think of any right now.

I don't think they are just for featured posts or for contests because there is an agent in my area that has not had that many blogs that they have written, but they have over 25000 bonus points?

i think the bonus points do have to come from a blogging contest. i am kind of new at this stuff, so i can be incorrect.

Here is just one post on the subject.  I'm sure there are more.  I've received points for stuff I didn't think was worthy, and been surprised by the sounds of crickets chirping on writing that I thought was great.  AR, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder!  Never know what will hit the community just right.

Cheers! from DC...

I think anyway you can get bonus points is if you link Active Rain to your website. I don't know how to do because I am trying to do it myself. If somebody knows how to do it,please tell me how to do it. Great post.

Michael - You can also get bonus points from linking to Localism on other websites.

Lanre - You have to be able to insert HTML code on the "referring" website. Find out if your site administrator will allow this. You may also try using a text link. It doesn't take up much space, but it's also effective.

Michael - I just realized something. Were you asking about the actual "category" called bonus points on your summary page? If so, then I think we're all at a loss. Maybe that's something you should email AR about?

If so many people are wondering about this mysterious "bonus Points", Active Rain should come forth and read comments to know that some people are in the dark. So, what's up?
