You have probably seen all the different Las Cruces recognitions from over the last 10 years, but when was the last time that you stopped to put serious thought into all the different reasons that you love it here?

Talk to just about anyone who lives in Las Cruces and they'll tell you that they love it here. More and more people have discovered Las Cruces as a great place to live, and more people are relocating here everyday.

Sometimes we neglect the great things in our city. It's easy to drive home at the end of the day without stopping to appreciate the glowing mountains, or to skip an Aggie basketball game. So I decided to start a list, The Best Things About Las Cruces, and I hope you'll help me show our appreciation for this great community.

The Best Things About Las Cruces

I'm going to start this list with 2 things that I really appreciate about Las Cruces. Then I hope you'll add to it. Let's make this a comprehensive list of the best things that Las Cruces has to offer.

The Mountains

Whether you're watching a sunrise or you're going for a hike, the mountains surrounding Las Cruces must be one of the best things about Las Cruces.

The Organ Mountains are simply stunning. Why else would everyone include them in their advertising? These mountains light up at sunset and depending on the time of year, they glow in colors ranging from orange to purple. But the Organ Mountains are only good for viewing.

Hiking trails like Baylor Canyon and Dripping Springs are great trails. Dripping Springs is a simple hike into the Organ Mountains where you find historic buildings, natural springs and little bit of exercise. Baylor Canyon is a little more challenging, but there are few places that offer such a great view of Las Cruces.
