I haven’t yet made up my mind on things like Megan’s law. I want children to be safe – heck, I even want adults to be safe – but I think laws like this have come about because parents don’t keep track of their children. It’s easier with cell phones and all. When I was in grade school, all my classmates, including me, were picked up by their parents or the school bus. And we were a small farming community where everyone knew everyone else anyway. There’s something wrong deeper within society – the propensity to have too many children and overpopulate the world; the desire to keep up with the Joneses, forcing both parents to work to get all those material possessions, etc.
