If you are currently working on a loan modification with Wells Fargo or if you are considering a loan modification with Wells Fargo, here are some ideas! Wells Fargo has developed a program called "Leading The Way Home" which, according to the Wells Fargo website, is an outreach program that "is designed to help communities understand and act on efforts to stabilize their current housing situation while advancing homeownership to build a stronger community for the future."
Part of this outreach program known as "Leading The Way Home" is the "Home Preservation Workshops" and the Freddie Mac "Foreclosure Prevention Workshops For Consumers". At these events, you can meet face to face with a Wells Fargo Loan Advisor or a trained volunteer that can advise you on your submission package, anything you might be missing and strategies on how to give yourself the best chance for loan modification approval. At some of these events there are seminars to teach you the finer points of the loan modification process, credit management, budgeting and more. Either way, this is an opportunity to learn about this process and potentially figure out if you are even a candidate for a loan modification.
Another opportunity similar to this one is The Housing Opportunities Collaborative "(HOC) is a tax exempt non-profit organization consisting of HUD approved housing counseling and fair housing agencies, community organizations, city jurisdictions and governmental agencies that support all aspects of housing rights and responsibilities. HOC serves as an information clearinghouse by consolidating housing related information and making it easily accessible to the public and partners. HOC also acts as a clearinghouse for its partners by conducting outreach events to educate and provide housing counseling services to the public. HOC also conducts capacity building workshops and training for it partners in order to standardize counseling. HOC is also a HUD approved housing counseling agency". According to their website. They have two local events, which are "Home Clinics" coming to San Marcos April 16th and Alpine April 30th. There will be a number of representatives attending these events and they also present an opportunity to learn more about loan modifications as well.
There is still another opportunity that we have discussed in the past, and that is NACA Save-The-Dream Tour that is currently marching its way across this great land and NACA has a very large partnership with Bank Of America, Wells Fargo, Fannie Mae and Saxon Mortgage among others. Again, an opportunity to meet face-to-face with an expert who is highly trained in loan modifications for Bank of America in particular and you can often get a decision right there on the spot!
Am I suggesting that you travel to these venues to get your loan modification application approved or declined? No, unless you maybe have another reason to go that way anyway, business, family, vacation or peace-of-mind. That's right campers I went there!
