Firefox is a Wet Dog!

By

I tried Firefox all day Tuesday and Wednesday.  It was going pretty well.  In fact, I was impressed with a lot of its functionality except for losing my favorites which could not be installed despite an add-on that imported them because one of them was missing a certificate.

And, then today, every time I tried to log into Active Rain, it stopped.  Died. Dead. I had to reboot each and every time.

Did I supply feedback?  You bet your sweet bippy I did.  No answer.

Well, enough of that.  I am back to Internet Explorer.  I may not be able to do all the "cool" things with my blog posts.  But at least I can log in and post my paltry, measly words.

Oh, and now I cannot post pictures either.  Bummer.  Live and learn.  I tried Firefox once before about three or four years ago on a computer that was state of the art and on a system that was owned by the computer consulting company I worked for at the time.  Didn't work then either.

IE might be a dinosaur.  But, at least, it doesn't crash my computer hourly.

Suzanne, I guess you will find that many members will not agree with you. They might have tweaked and made it work and enjoy it.

When I have some problems, my daughter tells me to do it in Firefox. I guess it works for her

I am an IE person, making me a dinosaur

Suzanne,

I have taken to using Quackit for generating HTML code for blogs.

It is free.

And it is very easy to insert photos that I have on Flickr.

I know so many swear by Firefox, but I seem to get along just fine with IE8.  I want to try IE9, but our MLS vendor does not support it yet.

Suzanne ~ I use Firefox on my laptop which is a MAC and I love firefox.  I can't use internet explorer on my MAC.  The parrallels program which is supposed to run windows on a MAC slows it down so much that I don't bother.  If I need to use internet explorer, I use a PC.

Suzanne, I have to toggle between the two.  For some odd reason I have a problem with the plug in for Google analytics on my website when I use Explorer.  On the other hand our MLS Tempo only works on Explorer.  I have resolved this dilemma by toggling between the two.  I worked it out by placing the short cut on opposite sides of the screen.  I have come to like Firebox but there are still those times where something does not work and I have to go to Explorer.  Then I go to Explorer and there are those times when something does not work and I have to go to Firefox.

I have tried them all and always end up back with Explorer. I guess it is whatever you are most comfy with and Explorer has been in my office a long, long time

Hi, Suzanne.

Isn't it great that we have choices?   When PC's became popular back in the day, it was Internet Explorer and nothing else.  (Unless you were a Mac User).

Now you have RockMelt, Opera, Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, and countless PC Browsers.

Firefox is my favorite, at least for today.  Firefox brought so much to the web (Tabbed Browsing, for example).   But word on the street is that  Chrome and IE will surpass Firefox in features and usability in coming years, and Firefox will get left in the dust.  Time will tell!

We are migrating to Google Platforms everywhere we can. As much as I love Chrome it isn;t as easy as Firefox of editing and posting on AR. Best of luck, I am sure IE will have a new rev soon!

Hey Suze!  I am surprised you were having so much trouble with Firefox.  That is all I use for Active Rain and I never very rarely have any problems.  If you need any help just holler!  We can brainstorm together!

I still have problems with Firefox.  I probably need to redo everything on my computer to get it to work....and it is just not worth it.
