It's a family outing Sunday!

My husband has to coach his soccer team at Railroad Park in Lewisville, TX in the championship game so what better place to go with kids and a dog on a beautiful spring day! 

If you're not familiar with Railroad Park in Lewisville, you are missing out on a true gem in this city.

Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park is a 250 acre, $20 million project located at the intersection of Railroad Street and Bennett Lane in southern Lewisville. There is easy access from both Interstate 35E and Highway 121 Business from three directions. The theme of the park is based on a deep tradition of the rail service and buildings are patterned after the original Katy depots. Boxcars will be placed near the main entrances to remind guests of the heritage. 

In addition to soccer and softball fields, there is a skate park, football complex, perimeter jogging trails, three man-made lakes and a dog park.  

The six acre dog park features two areas for dogs and owners. One acre is dedicated to small breeds and five acres are reserved for larger breeds. Covered seating areas are provided in both sections so that owners may comfortably keep track of their animals. Near the entrances are transition areas to provide leashing/unleashing, waste disposal, wash stations and drinking & watering fountains. Potential programs to be developed could include dog obedience classes and agility training courses.
