Cost of Living and Currency

Edmonton combines the highest average household income in Canada with an affordable cost of living. Taxes are lower here than elsewhere in Canada. There is no provincial sales tax. As a result, Edmontonians on average have more disposable income than other Canadians.

Canada’s paper money is in notes of $100, $50, $20, $10, and $5. Coins are 1 cent, 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, $1 and $2.

Currency Exchange Rates are provided by the Bank of Canada, which is responsible for Canada's monetary and financial policies. This site also includes lots of current financial research and information.
