short sale expeditorIf memory serves, Spring Break is generally a time to go crazy and party like partying is going out of style—but maybe that’s just for college kids.

For the rest of us, it’s a great time to recap where you are at with your real estate business. The first quarter of 2011 is now complete. Multiply your closings in the first quarter by four and you will see what 2011 is gonna look like a few months ahead of December.

In evaluating the Short Sale Expeditor® website, it seems that agents are still dying for high-quality information and support in short sales. (And, given the state of the market as reported by Scott Pelley of 60 Minutes, we are probably in for several more years of distressed property madness.)

Not going away for Spring Break? Have a little extra time on your hands? Check out our fans’ favorites blog posts for the past month.

  1. Venus, MARS, and the New Short Sale Disclosure Rules.  This post reviews the Federal Trade Commission’s new MARS rules and how they impact our jobs as short sale listing agents.
  2. Banks Pre-Approving Short Sales. This post clears the air and debunks a very common myth (or rumor) about pre-approved short sales. Learn when a short sale is pre-approved and what pre-approved really means.
  3. Bank of America Cooperative Short Sale Program. Download this chart and you will learn more about Bank of America’s new short sale program, which purports to provide a short sale approval in ten days.
  4. Short Sale vs. Foreclosure. You asked for it, you got it. Everyone and his mother has asked the Short Sale Expeditor® to review the differences between short sale and foreclosure. Here they are. Download the document and show it to clients—if you want to.
  5. MARS Forms for California Realtors®. This article reviews the California contracts that are now available for agents negotiating short sales. Remember that these forms are required as part of the FTC MARS rules. Check ‘em out.

Didn’t like any of these. Guess what? We have more. Or, if you are not in the mood to read, there’s always the Spring Break party in a hotel room down the hall ;-)
