The community of Malbis has a deep rooted history on Mobile Bay's eastern shore, dating back to the early 1900s. During this time, Greek immigrants selected the area as their new home and began to build new lives for themselves and many of their fellow countrymen soon followed. Community leaders opened the Malbis Memorial Church in 1965, a replica of a Byzantine church in Athens, Greece. The church was constructed of timeless materials, imported from an older world, and remains to this day as one of the most magnificent structures in Baldwin County, AL.
