The last few years our very on Boise Idaho Botanical Gardens (produced by Knitting Factory Entertainment) has been doing a concert series and bringing it some pretty big names. It is such a fun event - outdoors in the sun, beautiful surroundings, great music - definitely something to check into if you have never done it before.

Relax on the grassy lawn of Outlaw Field while listening to national recording artists! In partnership with the Knitting Factory, the Garden brings you another outstanding summer concert season featuring the nation's best acts performing at the Garden. Bring blankets and low back chairs, your own picnic dinner, and buy a glass of wine or beverages from local vendors. The Garden's location at the base of the foothills provides a natural setting and unique outdoor concert experience.
It is kicked off with Sheryl Crowe on May 19th. The ones that I am most excited about and am going to are Lyle Lovett & John Hyatt on June 14th and Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas on July 1st.
Other concerts include The Moody Blues, Ray LaMontagne & The Pariah Dogs With Special Guests: Brandi Carlile & The Secret Sisters, The Decemberists and Slightly Stoopid.
It's going to be a blast! Check out their website for more information and if you don't make it this year bookmark it for next year. Boise has a lot of fabulous events and culture, you just need to find it. This is one of my favorites.
My husband and I saw Lyle Lovett at couple of years ago. He puts on one of the best shows I've ever seen, but in the surroundings of the Botanical Gardens it makes it extra fun!
