Features Buyers Want

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker
The National Association of Realtors just completed a study about the features most important to home buyers. Tops on the list of features were oversize garages and homes that are either cable or satellite TV ready. Central air conditioning was the most important feature in the South for obvious reasons. The study also found that buyers prefer walk in closets, energy efficiency, and larger homes. Buyers now expect luxury as a standard feature. Items such as granite, hardwood floors, and whirlpool tubs that were once considered luxuries are now expected. As far as the layout of the home, buyers no longer look for a living room, dining room, or den and would rather have an in-law suite or exercise room. Finally, buyers preferred homes overwhelmingly over townhomes and condos.
