I have analyzed the stats from the MLS Midwest Real Estate Data and have found the following. There has been 27970 closings of Single Family, Attached Single Family (Condo, Townhome &; 1/2 Duplex) and 2-4 unit Multi-Family Units. Of those 13245 were marked as foreclosures or short sales. This means that over 47% of the sold properties were distressed.
For the Northwest Suburban Market I have posted the stats below. I will go into some more detailed anaylsis tomorrow on this.
