Why Are We In Real Estate?

If you have read my blog lately you would have known that I have been out-of-town for the last several days.  This gives me a chance to think and read a little more than I already do. 

One of the advantages of being out-of-town is listening to local radio and learning a new angle on issues from an entirely different economic environment than the center of UNREALISTIC economies that Orange County California has become.  (By the way the Orange County is the 14th largest economy in the WORLD!)

Listening to a radio program a person asked a simple question ... What are your beliefs? ... YOUR CORE BELIEFS!!! THE BELIEFS THAT REQUIRE EFFORT FOR YOU TO COMPROMISE!!!

As I flew back (4 hours) I tried to write down my Beliefs about Real Estate and the industry that I love so much.

Here are a few:

1) Real Estate is the heart of our nation and working in this business allows me to positively participate in the growth of this great country.

2) Real Estate Professionals should be BETTER INFORMED than their customers.

3) Real Estate IS about helping people make the best decision for themselves.

4) Real Estate IS NOT sales, it is about helping people make the best decision for themselves.

5) Real Estate would be better without GREED.

What are your beliefs about real estate and how do you act on your beliefs.

Allen - 100% the same as mine. I might also add that given that our knowledge of our markets should always be significantly better than our clients', then I'd add that we assume a tremendous amount of responsibility in sharing that knowledge accurately.  It's here that I feel the best agents distinguish themselves from the rest.  This is in line with all five of your points.
