Earlier this month, June 2nd, to be precise I wrote a post, "Sonic Post Dos Mas" about the Sonic Drive In being torn down and being replaced... Well the work is progressing quite well.
I was showing homes in Alvin and drove by and noticed that all of the concrete driveway which had earlier been crushed into chunks had now been cleared and the underground plumbing was being installed. I doubled back to take a picture so all of you could see the progression.
I asked one of my inspector friends what was going to happen to all that crushed chunked concrete... where would it go to a land fill? He said no...all big chunked concrete goes to the drainage district. They use it to stabilize the sides of the large drainage ditches. Most of this type of concrete is free and it is cheaper than buying the block stabilizer's you sometimes see in drainage districts.
It is a good thing when we re-cycle all material. I wish more companys were doing that too. One day all will catch on and life will be a little better on a planet call Earth.
