JUST IN FIVE SECONDS.

By
Real Estate Agent with David Tracy Real Estate #555994

I had to burst out laughing when I read Rose King's latest post about her dad. She spoke about all the wonderful things he taught her. I thought they were all good and some of them I wished my dad had taught me... but no my dad taught me the following:

  • How to shoot a gun;
  • How to skin a rabbit;
  • How to kill a chicken, dip it in boiling water and pluck it's feathers;
  • How to change a flat;
  • How to change the oil in a car;
  • How to fist fight;
  • How to hide really well;
  • How to tear apart an air condition compressor and reassemble it;
  • How to mow the lawn (crazy but we were not allowed to mow the grass because we were girls);
  • How to make really funny faces;

However, the most endearing thing my military dad taught me was how to kill a man in five seconds....he just wanted to make sure his girls could defend themselves...

I am a really easy going person and it takes a lot to make me mad...but now I have to be sure I never lose my temper or let a red rage overcome me because I fear someone would go down hard.

Boy Sussie, your tough! Not even my husband can kill and de-feather a chicken anymore like he did as a kid.

Sussie, I wish I would have had a Dad that would have taught me all of those things, great things to know actually.  My mom taught me many things I will never forget but how to fight in self defense was never one of them.  Love this post.

Sussie-I wish my Dad had cared enough to teach me ANYTHING. The skills he taught you could come in handy. Have a great Monday.

Richard: yeah some of those things are great to know....but if  you don't want to kill them the next best thing is to gouge the eyes out...kind of messy though and you're liable to get punched once or twice.

Rose: De Nada...

Sharon: If you think really hard I bet you will remember something he taught you.

Mary: My mom also taught me how to defend my self. She said after he goes to sleep you sew him in the blankets and then take a iron skillet to him.

Sussie-I really have thought hard about that since you said that. My dad was an alcoholic and was mentally and physically abusive to my Mom and we were loved conditionally but I think if I had to think of one thing it would be not what he taught me but the lesson I wish I had learned and that was to take better care of my health when I was younger.
