Cleaning the grill, oven racks and electric oven

Nothing is worse than showing a house and the potential Buyers open the oven! Yuck!

There is a easy way to clean the burnt on mess off those racks.

Things you'll need:

 • Old rag
 • Bottle of Amonia
 • Large trash bag

Soak rag in the Amonia. Place one in a trash bag with the racks and put outside for the night. Works on grill racks too.

In the morning, it will be easily wiped clean with paper towels or damp rag.

Make sure you don't mix any other cleaners with the amonia....could be toxic.

Great tip. Sounds messy but the result is a winner.

Wow, I guess you could soak a few rags and place them inside the oven to clean the bottom and leave overnight. What do you think?

Very important to not mix other chemicals. I tried that once with bleach and ammonia to clean my bathroom. It can hurt you!

That sounds like a neat trick, and ideas how to get the gunk off the bottom and sides??... Thanks Liz!

I also clean oven racks or grill racks in such a way. Sometimes a second night works better if it is real heavy with grease but the ammonia will cut through the grease!

Yeah....it is a little messy.....but it really does get the grease and baked on stuff to completely come off to wipe out!
