The market becomes slow from here until Christmas.

I don't know about your cities but in my area, one can feel a slowing of real estate at this time of the year. And once Thanksgiving gets here, it seems that everyone starts taking off for Christmas.  Showing houses at Christmas is not ideal because you can't see the house for the decorations!

I do remember once, however, a very prominent person buying a big house on Christmas eve.  He'd seen it but didn't really make up his mind until the day before Christmas.  He called his agent and she'd gone to visit relatives in another state.

He was very "put out" with the agent for not being there when he needed her.  The manager stepped in and did the paper work for her.  I think the businessman was buying the house to please his wife.....so he wouldn't have to buy her anything else for Christmas!  Good gift!!!

I've had my best year start the Christmas week.   I like it, the lookers are gone and many agents are on vacation!

Hey, I'll still be here.  I'm a Christmas nut and often look at houses in the summer and decide where I'd put the tree.

Decorations would just provide a good visual.

Just like Judy said....work it, 'cause other agents aren't! It's a great time to "feather your nest" for the next year.

For the most part, I expect things to slow down a good bit this time of year in my area.  Hunting season has started, the days are shorter, and people start planning/saving for the holidays.  Maybe this will be a good time for me to make some good investment buys.  I would like to buy at least one more house by the end of the year.
