Darcy and I were talking last night about how much we love this time of year. Autumn leaves have blossomed into their splendor. The hues highlighting the beauty of the mountains. The evenings are crisp and cool, not quite uncomfortably cold, reminding us that winter is just around the corner; the lazy, hot, carefree summer days are gone and kids of all ages are in school.
We are reminded that it is time to refine, organize and prepare for the coldness of winter. In the past it meant a time to lay in wood and supplies for the pending winter. Now it still reminds us that we need to refine and consolidate to meet our yearly goals and prepare to make adjustments and plans for the coming year.
We are reminded that change is the one constant in life, and as Realtors it is a fact of life. These changes are what separates the professionals from the rest. The professionals adapt and modify themselves and their practices to change, while the rest don't change nor adapt. It is nature's way of letting us know that regardless of how smart we think that we are; there is always something new to learn.
Some aspects of Fall are a little depressing, the days get shorter, and the clock is ticking on those goals that we set earlier. However, the reminders of change and the ability to do so, overcomes the angst of remembering those lazy summer days. Those long days of sunshine are dimmed into the need to adapt to shorter days and plan accordingly for our business and future. These give way to the hope to the time when everyday is a long summer day and one has accomplished, professionally, what they wished from their career, and they can truly relax. Our wish is that everyone enjoy the Fall, and all of its lessons and reminders!
