Survey Says Home Ownership Remains a Goal For Most

The National Association of Home Builders study shows that "75 percent of the people polled said that owning a home is worth the risk of the fluctuations in the market, and 95 percent of the home owners said they are happy with their decision to own a home."

In the Franklin, MA area alone, 15 single family homes have gone under contract in the past 4 weeks despite it being the middle of summer!  The Franklin, MA real estate market has begun to stabilize whereas we had formerly experienced a 10-15% depreciation over the past few years of the downturn.

Survey respondents cited stability, physical and emotional benefits to home ownership and surprisingly tax benefits were not mentioned.  The mere responsibility involved in maintenance as well as the discipline to manage mortgage payments were also noted.  Most often, owning a home meant having the greatest retirement asset possible.
