We spent the weekend at the Hummingbird Inn in Goshen Virginia. This beautiful location is right in the middle of forest, south of Staunton and north of Lexington. We are here with couples from the Tidewater Virginia area and one couple from New Jersey. Like any bed and breakfast, we were thrown into a pot of people and the chips fall where they do. The package that we all purchased included a trip to the Blackfriars Playhouse to see Hamlet (an excellent performance in an amazing building). We spent the morning hiking in Douthat State Park. The hike was challenging, the trails were well marked, and there were many other things to do from a beach, canoeing, to a discovery center. It has been a relaxing time (even more so since they have wireless Internet and I am able to keep up with work in the mornings). If you are looking to get away, enjoy nature, and experience small town living, this is a great destination.
