Searching for Nanaimo properties
There are a number of ways you can search for Nanaimo properties. A large percentage of people search properties online before they begin working with a Realtor.
As of today there are 1640 Nanaimo properties for sale. That is a staggering number of homes to weed through. In order to make preliminary house hunting easier you can go to the MLS website and do a search there. If you already know what neighbourhoods you are interested in you could use the interactive map on my website. Just click on a neighbourhood on the map and you will be redirected to all the Nanaimo properties available in that neighbourhood.
Once you have a fairly good idea of what you are looking for you can move forward and hire a Realtor to assist you.
A Realtor has access to a wealth of information about a property. For example, I rarely write a purchase contract for a client without digging into the history of the property and conducting a variety of property searches. I do not rely on MLS data alone.
Some of the pertinent facts that I like to research on Nanaimo properties are:
•· How long the house has been on the market
•· How long the seller has been in the home.
•· Whether improvements have been made without a permit
•· Whether the home is in foreclosure.
•· Amount of present taxes
•· What other similar houses have sold for in the area.
Once you make an offer on a property I will then assist you in doing some additional searches such as:
•· Visiting city hall together to check to see if there are any issues with the property such as: complaints, right-of-ways etc.
A property search can turn up valuable data that you can use when negotiating a purchase of a Nanaimo property. For additional information on ways I can assist you in researching a home purchase please contact me.
