The Fernley Golf Course Community is about 5 miles east of Fernley from the round-about and there are over 500 homes built around the meandering golf course. This is the one of the more popular areas to live in Fernley. Most of the homes have a panoramic west mountain view. The homes are custom homes built by many different builders, but a few of the homes have been duplicated throughout the subdivision.

There is a homeowners's association that does an excellent job of managing the subdivision and makes sure the properties are maintained according to the CC&R's. The yearly HOA fee is very affordable at around $100.
The Golf Club at Fernley was built in 1996 and has greens that vary between undulating and flat course and there are 33 lakes and many white sand bunkers. It is a public couse, but has a country club atmosphere. There is a pro shop, driving range, chipping green, and practice bunker. The signature hole is #5, a 159 yard par.
Reservations can be made 7 days in advance and they have a full bar and snack bar. The club is located at 50 Desert Lakes Drive and the phone number is 775-575-4653.
