It's amazing how one can learn and really observe his/her surroundings, ADAPT and RUN with it at an early age.......... 
I was born and raised in TX all up to my ADULT life and growing up in the real estate and restaurant business I had other things in mind... First seeing the world............ But having a great grandfather own the local restaurant, pool hall, gas station, movie theater and other businesses I didn't think nothing of it... I thought everyone owned something... Heck! I am just a kid. What do I know at four? I just want to be served when I got into one of the places GrandDad owned... HA! (such a bratt!) I remember my grandpa taking us to see property out in West Texas and saying... "what a great deal it was". "Should I buy it Laura"?, he would say... I was about 7 years old! I said, "well if, it's a good deal!> well, YES! I think you should buy it..." After many properties and 
years... that was the best deal he had made through the years he would tell the family.
Later I found out that my GrandDad bought the property~ I just didn't know it was over 800 acres. WOW!!! He always said, "I was his good luck charm". It brings tears to my eyes when I think of him... I miss him so much... (R.I.P. grandpa) and our family has sold most of the land, but NOT my 250 acres of it he left me... ;) I still have it! And it's NOT going anywhere! Because I will never SELL it and one day I will build a ranch house out in TX. Don't know when.... But I have it in my WILL NOT TO SELL! (I will leave as executor interest, that's another BLOG! I will tell you about later....) My grandpa use to tell me I had the gift of saying the right thing when he was trying to make a business decision that would help him in making a decision. I never knew that I was making such a HUGE decision for him at 7 years old. Later, in life after attacking a career in modeling, banking, and custom software I thought of my grandpa and how successful he was... and everything he owned and how he helped local families... My grandma said he would give jobs to anyone that didn't have one. If that meant more people for one job that ONLY meant his customers were getting better served. I take that to heart and believe that's how I want to still help clients... His blood runs through my veins........... MORE THAN I knew at the time.............. I think more than anyone in our family because my philosophy is EXACT!!! Starting real estate in 1990 after living in Germany for 3 years I knew I wanted to do what my GrandDad did and that was real estate. I wanted to be in a situation that I could also make a difference in people lives. I started out in property management and it gave me the opportunity to get to know people and how the industry works and the ability to study to get my State License at the same time. I guess you could say... "IT'S IN THE BLOOD!" Especially, since my dad flipped properties before that verbage was even made up.... So, he took after his grandPa as well...
Again, it's in the blood....
I know now what my grandDad meant!
